  • Description

Do you ever daydream about jumping in a travel trailer and heading west? Are you enamored with the vintage style of a bygone era? Do you enjoy camping, but secretly wish you had a real bed, wifi and a bathroom? If so, the Dixie Daisy is for you! This cute Airstream trailer has been completely renovated with a retro twist. It’s the perfect place to escape for a relaxing Wimberley vacation surrounded by Hill Country nature, yet equipped with the conveniences of home. Grill up a yummy dinner with your honey and dine al fresco on the large deck, take a morning stroll along the creek, turn on the string lights for some mood lighting, take a dip in the hot tub, enjoy your morning shower under the trees in the private, spacious outdoor shower (room for two!), and end your day relaxing by the fire with an ice cold beer. This is the life!
The Dixie Daisy provides all the comforts of home in one cute, cozy package. The antique iron bedframe holds a queen mattress, the bathroom has a small interior shower and a real toilet, the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and utensils, and alongside the deck is a charcoal grill and fire bowl for your night-time fire. The owners really go out of their way to add those special touches to make your trip complete, such as leaving fresh eggs in the fridge (as long as the chickens keep up) and local organic coffee. They also strive to make this property as green as possible by using environmentally friendly dish soap and laundry detergent, providing recycled paper products and full recycling, using low-wattage light bulbs, and more.
This cozy retreat is nestled in an elm grove along the banks of Smith Creek on 10 beautiful acres shared with the owners. You’ll really feel like you’ve escaped to nature, yet the fabulous shopping and dining of downtown Wimberley are only 3 miles down the road. It’s the best of both worlds! So, what are you waiting for? The Dixie Daisy is the unique vacation getaway you’ve been dreaming of. We are confident that it will exceed your expectations!
Note: We have a two night minimum policy, but when there is a single night gap in the schedule we are willing to accept single night bookings for an additional $25.

    • The Dixie Daisy does it right!

Reviewed by Shelly S. from Poolville on July 03, 2016 for their trip during June 2016

What a delightful oasis Jennifer and Greg have created with the Dixie Daisy! From the retro feel of the airstream to the carefully thought out deck and yard, my senses were delighted! I was visited by the deer while walking along the stream just beyond the yard. They followed me back to the airstream and pretended not to watch me! If that's not enough, a walk away is greeted with a whimsical treehouse overlooking the stream! Jennifer's art studio is beyond beautiful with its unique style. The wind chimes lend an air of mystical magic in the beauty of nature. I could almost imagine fairies lanquashing in the trees! The airstream itself was incredibly comfortable with the soft bed, and carefully thought out details! The French press coffee maker was intimidating at first; however, equipped with a YouTube video tutorial, I mastered the art of making the best cup of coffee I have ever had! Jennifer and Greg supplied fresh ground local coffee and fresh eggs from their hens! All I can say is WOW! I would definitely recommend the Dixie Daisy! If nature, hotubs, and quirky stays are your thing, the Dixie Daisy does it right! I'll definitely be back! Thank you to Greg and Jennifer for a fabulous stay!

We loved our stay in the air stream trailer. Everything just right. We had a fire in the fire pit every night and cooked on it. Fun place! We would recommend this place to all those looking for a fun alternative place to stay. Linda's Fine Foods restaurant was especially good. Go Thurs., Fri., Sat. for live music.

    • Ideal For Romantic Getaway

Property is about 50-75 yards from highway, but you would never know it. This is good for a quiet or romantic, secluded getaway. This is in the trees; there's a cabin on the property, but the Airstream outside area is private and shielded from the other. There are paths winding through the wooded areas , and a path to a nearby creek. The creek has a sitting bench, and a tree with an elevated platform, ideal for climbing by my photograph taking spouse. Jennifer and Gregory were very accommodating to our needs, and to our pets. The Airstream has a generous outside deck, hot tub, and outside shower. The Airstream inside is very comfortable, and supplied with all the equipment for cooking. I think you rent this place for the outside. We had 3 mornings of rain, so we were inside. It was a little cramped inside with our luggage and 2 pets. But we were cozy with coffee, wifi, and the comfortable bed. When the outside was dry, we and our pets enjoyed the deck, walking through the woods, and along the creek. The hot tub was a real plus. Also got a little hammock time in the afternoon. The property is also convenient for going to Wimberley, or Driftwood. Jennifer and Gregory are an ideal couple to rent from. They knew this was a honeymoon, and left a very nice bottle of wine for us. They have other properties, and have asked them for the numbers. We intend to return to the Airstream, or other their other properties in the future.

Owner Response: Thank you so much for the kind words. We really love this space we created and are so glad you did, too! You guys are welcome back any time.

    • A Romantic Property and Area, That Was Everything We Expected

Reviewed by mike m. on April 29, 2016 for their trip during April 2016

This property is about 50 to 75 yards from the highway, but you would never know it. The site and Airstream is situated for quiet and privacy. The owners have constructed paths that wander through the trees, and down to a nearby creek. The creek has a sitting area above it, and there is a tree above the creek, with a platform built in, that was appealing to my photo taking wife. Jennifer and Gregory were very accommodating to our needs, and requests. This was a romantic trip for us, and it was everything we expected. They have furnished the Airstream with everything you need , including cooking. I think you rent the place for the outside. We had 3 mornings of rain, so when we were inside, it was a little cramped with our luggage and pets. But the mornings inside, with the rain coming down , were comfortable and enjoyable. When we were outside, it was very pleasant; even got in a little time in the hammock. We can say that Jennifer and Gregory are the ideal owners to rent from. They have other properties of various sizes, and we've asked them for their other property numbers. We intend to return to the Airstream, or other properties in the future. We would recommend the owners properties to our friends.

My sister and I stayed for three nights over spring break at the Retro Airstream trailer, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The hot tub and fire pit were nice for cooler weather, while the hammock and deck were pleasant for warmer weather. It was great fun hearing and seeing the local hens and making French toast with their eggs. The funky decor, including the Texas Swing CDs and Roy Rogers DVDs, added to the ambiance. The owners were very responsive to any questions or concerns we had.

Fabulous, relaxing, much needed trip that we didn't know we needed! Wonderful Wimberely was so fun and close by the Dixie Daisy...yet just far enough away to feel like we were able to retreat! Dixie Daisy is so charming and well planned. Jennifer and Gregory are warm and welcoming! The Blue hole, local brew pubs, and The wineries were our favorite places to visit! I would recommend this place to any family wanting to get away. We went to local thrift shops, a bonsai garden exhibit, a glass blowing demonstration and we spent much time relaxing at the Dixie Daisy. The outdoor shower was incredible and the property is breathtaking! Overall on of our favorite trips!
